Summary
Heavy Barrel is a top-down run-and-gun shooter developed by Data East for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Terrorists have seized an underground control complex at a nuclear missile site, and the player must fight through the enemy installation and eliminate its leader. Weapons, grenades, and other power-ups can be found throughout the facility, while keys are used to open locked containers. The ultimate goal is to locate the six pieces of the powerful Heavy Barrel weapon, reassemble it, and use it to defeat the enemy forces. The NES version supports one- or two-player cooperative play.
