Storyline
Set in the dark, war-ravaged far future of Warhammer 40,000, Inquisitor: Martyr casts the player as a member of the Inquisition, the Imperium of Man's dreaded secret police, sworn to root out the taint of Chaos worship and alien corruption wherever it festers. The action takes place in the Caligari Sector, a troubled region rife with heresy and unrest. The story begins when a derelict battleship materializes out of nowhere in the sector, a silent ghost ship drifting through the void. Dispatched to investigate the ominous vessel, the Inquisitor's transport is fired upon by its automated defenses and shot down, forcing a crash landing on the ship's hangar deck. There the Inquisitor discovers the vessel is the Martyr, a fortress monastery that vanished without a trace five thousand years ago. As the player fights through its haunted corridors and confronts the horrors lurking within, they begin to unravel the ancient mystery of the ship's disappearance and the dark secrets it still guards.
