Play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose and harness all-new Emerald powers to move and attack in dynamic new ways. Navigate gorgeous, never-before-seen environments solo or with up to 3 other players and stop Dr. Eggman, Fang, and a mysterious new adversary from converting the islands' giant animals into Badniks before it's too late!

The adventure takes place across the lush and untamed North Star Islands, a brand-new setting home to a population of enormous, gentle creatures. Trouble arrives when the villainous Doctor Eggman, scheming as ever to seize power, sets out to capture these giant animals and harness them to build a formidable new army. To carry out his plot, he enlists two accomplices: the greedy bounty hunter Fang the Hunter and the mysterious newcomer Trip the Sungazer. Standing against them are the heroic Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose, who race across the islands to foil Eggman's scheme. Dashing, flying, gliding, and smashing their way through a series of vibrant zones, the heroes must free the captured creatures and put a stop to the doctor's dangerous ambitions.
