Decades after the Rain of Death, a new journey begins in the Land of Fumes, where mystical powers lie beneath the earth. Set decades after Ender Lilies in the same world, Ender Magnolia unfolds in the Land of Fumes, a kingdom served by machine-like artificial beings called Homunculi. A toxic gas seeping up from below has corrupted many of these Homunculi, driving them mad and turning them violent. The story follows Lilac, a girl with the rare gift of an "Attuner" who can cleanse the corruption, as she wakes in an abandoned lab with no memory of her past. Together with a loyal Homunculus companion named Nola, she sets out across the ailing kingdom to purify the afflicted, uncover the truth of her origins, and find a way to save the land.
