Oatchi, resident good boy and dependable partner, can help with things like smashing obstacles and carrying Pikmin throughout your adventure. With the miniscule Pikmin and a capable canine in tow, no challenge is too big!

When Captain Olimar's ship suffers a freak accident and crash-lands on the mysterious, Earth-like planet PNF-404, he is forced to recruit the strange plant-like creatures known as Pikmin to help recover its missing parts. After sending out a desperate SOS along with his voyage logs, Olimar inexplicably vanishes while continuing his search. His distress call reaches the Rescue Corps, an intergalactic rescue organization, which dispatches a team led by Captain Shepherd to save him. But their ship malfunctions on arrival, scattering the crew across the planet's surface. With the mission in jeopardy, the Rescue Corps' newest recruit, the player, is sent down to locate the missing rescuers and Olimar himself. Aided by a loyal rescue pup named Oatchi and an army of Pikmin, the recruit sets out across a perilous alien world.
